Impact, reports and financials
Useful reporting starts with definitions, source records, and honest limitations
Bridge Niagara is building a reporting practice that explains what was measured, when, how, and from which records before publishing a result.
How we measure
The information every public result should include
Definition
What the measure means, including whether it counts a person, household, volunteer, service, event, contribution, or other unit.
Period
The exact dates or fiscal period covered so an event result is not mistaken for an all-time or annual total.
Source and Method
The retained record and calculation method used, including how repeat participation, missing information, and estimates are handled.
Review
The person or authorized role that checked the result, source, calculation, and publication decision.
Privacy and Consent
Only the information needed for the measure is collected. Identifiable stories, names, photographs, quotations, or recordings require an approved consent route.
Limitations
Missing records, small samples, selection effects, estimates, and attribution limits are disclosed when they affect interpretation.
Counting rules
Common terms will be defined before numbers are reported
- People, families, or households served: the unit and unique-versus-repeat rule must be stated.
- Volunteers and volunteer hours: duplicate volunteers, shifts, and the source of hours must be defined.
- Programs, events, or completed services: the completion rule and reporting period must be clear.
- Cash and in-kind support: amounts must reconcile to approved records and explain any valuation method.
- Outcomes: observed change must be distinguished from activities and outputs, and causation must not be overstated.
Current public record status
What is available now
IRS Determination Letter
A verified issuer copy dated March 13, 2023 is available upon request after public-safe review.
Form 990-N Records
As of August 1, 2026, the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search lists e-Postcard records for tax years 2023 and 2024. A later period will be added only after it appears in an official issuer record.
Annual Report
A 2026 report framework has been prepared, but no completed annual report is represented as published. Results, financial information, governance statements, stories, and acknowledgments must pass source, approval, privacy, and consent review first.
Financial Statements and Budgets
No current financial statement, audit, or operating budget is posted until its period, preparation basis, approval, and public-safe copy are confirmed.
Why the website does not use promotional counters
Credibility matters more than a large-looking number
Past website totals were removed because the source period, definitions, deduplication rules, and calculation method were not sufficiently documented. Bridge Niagara will publish quantitative results when they can be reproduced from retained records and reviewed under the method above.
